From The Editor

(Reprinted from Silver State News)

Our delayed announcement is now here...we are on the move once again to a destination that remains proprietary in nature. Our landlords are selling their property and our work here is finished simultaneously for the time being. We will be in this area constantly but have business elsewhere in Nevada that makes a move advantageous in this time frame.

This is the beginning of higher-level Court actions to recover Joan Carol Serfoss' property in the Fishlake Valley and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to Justice. This includes the corrupt Court of Judge John P. Davis, the Officers of his Court and the Attorneys associated with it, but also now includes two corrupt Courts in Reno and an additional Court in Las Vegas, which recently chimed in with an obnoxious and incompetent opinion of its own.

Since we have been pressed for time, we have many stories waiting in the wings regarding Serfoss vs. Serfoss, and will also be able to resume the work on The Curious Case of Michael Sue Nichols due to new, positive developments there ~ our work on the latter story delayed because of the heavy workload in Serfoss vs Serfoss. The proverbial light at the end of the tunnel is almost full sky, so we're going to clobber quite a number of myths and lies told against this woman, particularly by Law Enforcement in Esmeralda County, and their little buddy, Pedophile John D. and his soon to be 19-year-old call girl, Savanna D., whom he seduced under the watchful eyes and helpful actions of the Esmeralda County Sheriff and one of his Deputies.

In regards to the upcoming move, the earliest our move from this locationi will take place is August 5, 2008, but no later than September 5, 2008. As we have much in the way of litigation planned for the Serfoss Crime Family, their Agents, Vectors and Friends, this move will facilitate more expeditious Court actions against these criminals and their friends in Law Enforcement and the Criminal Element here in Fishlake Valley and elsewhere throughout the State. Once again, this too, involves the Esmeralda County Sheriff and one of his deputies, along with both their wives based on known conduct by the Sheriff's wife and new Discovery of misconduct by the Deputy's wife.

Additionally, this publication wishes to step up efforts involving a related case in Reno, Nevada, involving RICO and Major Fraud activities there, directed against the United States Government, the People and their Treasury. The Federal Government itself has some "s'plainin" to do.

If the move takes place as planned between August 5 and 8, 2008, this will likely be the last issue of SSNS before our departure and the next issue will publish after our arrival and internet has been procured at our new destination. If not, it will indeed take place no later than September 5, 2008, and we will publish four more issues minimum before the final departure date.

We will continue our news reporting in regards to the Fishlake Valley and expand into other areas as well. We intend to be a much more global operation by January 1, 2010.

With the litigation boosted here, we now focus on the major cities where Federal case work has begun in earnest, meaning, we need to be more central to airports in Sacramento, Las Vegas and Reno, for travel eventually to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., where Federal Civil Rights violations will be fought and as necessary, appealed. We fully anticipate the Federal cases going as high as the United States Supreme Court before these matters are ended.

We have instructions and permission from the Federal Courts in Las Vegas to serve the first of our cases on the opposing parties. The groundwork for that is being laid at this time.

Also, we have assets we'd like to bring in regarding Crime and Corruption here in the Fishlake Valley, in particular, drug running and drug dealing operations, that are better coordinated from outside the Valley. None the less, we will be remaining "on scene" as this place is too much of a hoot to abandon story wise, and once cleaned up, has too much potential and insight in regards to the lives of the Good Folks living and working in Rural Nevada.

Las Vegas is lovely at night, in other words, so too is Reno ~ but there's something about waking up to a fresh snowfall on the White Mountains and Silver Peak Range, and Mustangs roaming wild and free so close even to the most minimal of civilization, a township known as Dyer.

You have not seen Nevada until you've seen not only its rural lands, but its own, fabled, "Badlands," untouched, undeveloped and awaiting a new generation of 21st Century Pioneers.

And though we're not quite finished here yet, the move will allow us a more Metropolitan area from which to operate from and to tend to neglected medical needs. We will continue our search for property in the Fishlake Valley area next Spring. The recent and ongoing Real Estate crisis has changed the climate of things and there are some promising developments that should occur over a short period of time that will allow us to start concluding deals for home and business land.

Court casework must come first however. The newspaper is second to that and finding a retirement home is momentarily on the back burner.

So vast is our casework, however, that we are looking at establishing East Coast facilities in Baltimore, Maryland, to commute between the West Coast and Washington, D.C., for upcoming casework and lobbying efforts in the Nation's Capitol. This Editor also has business interests involving Aviation and Air Racing that he wishes to pursue on the East Coast, especially in Florida.

So, enjoy...we hope to see you again shortly after the 8th of August, once our move is completed with the latest News involving the cases of Serfoss vs Serfoss and the Curious Case of Michael Sue Nichols, which has taken some interesting turns while in abeyence.

We will also be returning to our Aviation Venue in this and other State News Service publications run by ILIPS Group International, and the planned expanstion ~ on hold since September, 2006 ~ will begin once again in October, 2008. We have been quietly acquiring websites towards that end over time and will add roughly three dozen more by the end of 2009.

Air Racing Extravagana coverage will be renewed as August, 2009, marks the Centennial of Air Racing, a Motorsport that got its start not in America, but in Rheims, France, the Cathedral City where Joan of Arc crowned a King.

Very appropriate considering the Kings crowned over 100 years of Air Racing.

One other story we are pursuing coverage of is for our sister publication, Aviation & Marine USA, and that involves an introduction of the Emirates Airbus A380 in San Francisco, California, on August 4, 2008, and Los Angeles, California, on August 5, 2008 ~ the latter on the same day an Emirates A380 inaugurates commercial service from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, in New York City. We have one of our photographers positioned in Los Angeles and I am attempting to cover the event in San Francisco, California.

We're awaiting details from Emirates officials in Dubai.

From there, we will be expanding our coverage from Business Press Releases into more mainstream and alternative news stories created by our own writing staff. This expansion will be noticable at the other State News Service websites under our banner.

Much to do as the end of the first decade of the 21st Century approaches!

~~~~~~~~~~
For our Readers at Aviation & Marine USA...
...we do expect to be in a shutdown period for the same approximate amount of time. Aviation & Marine will have highest update priority, followed by Silver State News Service and the other State News Services under the ILIPS Group International banner from there.
RTF TROOPS INJURED IN FLARE INCIDENTS
Saturday, July 26, 2008 6:26 PM
CPA 245/08 Sunday, 27 July 2008
Two Reconstruction Task Force (RTF) soldiers are receiving medical care following two separate incidents involving the accidental discharge of pen-flares.
The incidents occurred late on the evening of Wednesday, 23 July during a routine RTF patrolling activity in Oruzgan Province.
Defence spokesperson Brigadier Brian Dawson said one soldier received a serious injury as a result of an accidental pen-flare discharge and another received superficial injuries in a second, similar incident while assisting in the treatment of his section mate.
“Both soldiers were immediately given first-aid by the other section members and evacuated to a nearby ISAF medical facility for further treatment and medical assessment,” Brigadier Dawson said.
“Their injuries are not life-threatening but they remain under medical care.”
The RTF has commenced an investigation into the likely causes of the pen-flare discharges. Australian troops continue to use them on operational patrols due to their value in providing a non-lethal option when they are required to signal Afghan drivers to remain a safe distance from convoys or checkpoints.
Pen-flares are small hand-held devices that project an incandescent flare that can be easily seen during the day and night out to approximately 50 metres.
The families of the injured soldiers have been informed of the incident.
The release of this information to the public has been delayed due to priority the ADF places on notifying the affected families.
Defence will not disclose the names of the soldiers injured as they remain in the operational area.
Air Canada applies for U.S. antitrust immunity to facilitate partnership with Continental Airlines, Lufthansa and United Airlines
MONTREAL, July 23 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada today announced that together
with other Star Alliance partners it has applied for antitrust immunity in the
U.S. as a first step toward creating a new joint venture with Continental
Airlines, United Airlines and Lufthansa.
Nine Star Alliance carriers, including Air Canada, have filed a joint
application with the U.S. Department of Transportation to add Continental
Airlines to their existing antitrust immunity. Antitrust immunity is necessary
in the United States to discuss coordinating schedules, fares and other
functions. In addition, Air Canada, Continental Airlines, United Airlines and
Lufthansa will ensure their proposed cooperation is also compatible with the
competition laws of Canada and the European Union.
The DOT has granted nearly 20 applications for antitrust immunity in the
past and Air Canada currently has antitrust immunity in the U.S. with respect
to United and Lufthansa, all of which were founding members of the Star
Alliance. Continental, the fourth largest carrier in the U.S., announced in
June that it plans to join Star Alliance.
Emirates' A380 "takes flight" at London's Heathrow Airport
23 July 2008
As Emirates prepares for the introduction of A380 service in August, its 21st century Airbus flagship already has a high-profile presence at London's Heathrow - the world's busiest international airport.
A one-third scale A380 model in Emirates' livery has been installed on the airport's primary roundabout, putting it in view of the 25 million people who will pass it on their way in and out of Heathrow every year - making it one of the world's most valuable advertising properties.
With a length of 24 metres and a wingspan of 26 metres, the A380 replica is believed to be one of the world's largest scale aircraft models ever built. It is made of glass-reinforced plastic over a steel frame, and is more than double the size of the Concorde aircraft model that previously occupied the site.
The scale A380's 23 July unveiling was the culmination of more than a year's work for Emirates, Airbus and U.S. model-making company Penwal, who all collaborated to design and build the 45-tonne replica to a high degree of accuracy.
Its journey began from the Penwall production site in California to the state's Ontario Airport, where it was airlifted to Heathrow aboard a large Antonov An-124 freighter. A special mechanical ramp was used to unload the A380 model as it was too heavy for the Antonov's winch crane to handle.
A team then worked around the clock for two weeks to assemble the model, which arrived as 10 component parts - fuselage pieces, engines, tail fin and wings, and had to be set in 600 tonnes of concrete on the roundabout.
During a visit to check on construction, Emirates Airline President Tim Clark said that the A380 would be an important symbol for passengers. "While we don't plan to carry any passengers on this A380, we expect the model to become strongly associated with Heathrow and a striking icon for many millions of air travellers," he said. "Emirates is now, in every sense, a model airline."
Faster domestic to international connections at Tokyo Narita
22 July 2008
Domestic to international connections speeded up at Tokyo Narita: Minimum connection times between Japan Airlines' domestic flights and international departures by all oneworld® partners operating alongside it at its Tokyo Narita Terminal 2 hub are being have been reduced by 25 per cent - from 80 to 60 minutes.
The change has been made possible through the opening of an exclusive passport control area and security checkpoint for passengers connecting from domestic to international flights at the terminal, enabling them to proceed straight from the domestic arrival lobby to the international departure concourse.
Currently, JAL connects Tokyo Narita with four domestic points - Sapporo, Nagoya Chubu, Osaka Itami and Fukuoka. Flying alongside it from Terminal 2 are oneworld partners American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair and Qantas.
Tumbes becomes oneworld's 13th destination in Peru: A 13th destination in Peru has joined the oneworld network with affiliate LAN Peru launching flights to Tumbes from its Lima hub. With the three-letter IATA code TBP, Tumbes is in the far north of Peru, close to its border with Ecuador. The airline is flying there now with an initial three Airbus A319s a week, rising to daily from August. oneworld is the only global airline alliance with any members in South America, with Chile's LAN, and LAN Argentina and LAN Ecuador, besides LAN Peru.
LAN to launch first Canadian connection: LAN is to open service to Canada, with an initial five Boeing 767s a week between Toronto and its Santiago hub, via New York JFK, from 3 September. The airline also has traffic rights between the US and Canadian gateways. At Toronto, it will operate from Pearson International Airport's Terminal 3.
RJ opens Ukraine connections: Royal Jordanian is to be the fourth oneworld carrier to serve Kiev with the launch of non-stops to the Ukrainian capital from its Amman hub from 17 August with an initial three Embraer 195s a week. It takes its network to 56 destinations.
Dragonair roars into Bangalore: Affiliate Dragonair yesterday launched daily Airbus A330 flights between its Hong Kong hub and Bengaluru (Bangalore) - its first route to India. The city is already on the oneworld network through services by British Airways.
Finnair to fly to Hong Kong daily: Finnair is to fly between its Helsinki hub and the Hong Kong home of oneworld partner Cathay Pacific daily in the coming winter season, starting 25 October, up from four a week last year. Timings on a number of its key Asian routes will also be changed to provide better connections with its European network.
JAL to offer Premium Economy on more European routes: Japan Airlines is to offer its JAL Premium Economy cabin on four more Europe routes - between its Tokyo Narita hub and both Amsterdam and Moscow and on Osaka-London Heathrow and Nagoya-Paris CDG progressively from October.
oneworld in brief: oneworld brings together some of the best and biggest names in the airline business - American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév Hungarian Airlines, Qantas and Royal Jordanian, plus some 20 affiliates, including American Eagle, South Africa's Comair, Dragonair, LAN Argentina, LAN Ecuador and LAN Peru. Mexicana will join in 2009, with its subsidiary Click Mexicana as an affiliate.
Its airlines serve some 700 destinations in 150 countries and offer almost 550 airport lounges worldwide. They carried around 320 million passengers last year. It is the only alliance with any member airlines based in South America, Asia's Middle East or Australia.
The alliance enables its members to offer their customers more services and benefits than any airline can provide on its own. These include a broader route network, opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles and points across the combined oneworld network and more airport lounges. oneworld is the only alliance to enable passengers to fly throughout its network, on any combination of carriers, using just electronic tickets.
oneworld was voted the World's Leading Airline Alliance for the fifth year running in the 2007 World Travel Awards, based on votes cast by some 170,000 travel professionals, including more than 110,000 travel agents in 200 countries.
Boeing and Aeroflot Cargo Commemorate MD-11BCF Service
FRANKFURT, Germany, July 24, 2008 - The first MD-11 Boeing Converted Freighter to enter service with Aeroflot Cargo was the center of attention today at the carrier's facility at Frankfurt-Hahn airport. The airplane represents the efforts of both Boeing Capital Corp., in the structuring of the leasing arrangement, and Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, which provided engineering support and conducted the modification work at subcontractor facilities in Europe.
Aeroflot Cargo, which operates four DC-10 freighters, is leasing the three MD-11BCFs on a multi-year basis and also has committed to acquire three additional MD-11 airplanes to undergo freighter conversion with Boeing's help.
MD-11 Boeing Converted Freighters to Support Aeroflot Cargo Growth Plan
FRANKFURT, Germany, July 24, 2008 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] is helping Aeroflot Cargo improve its operational efficiency and adapt to growing market demands by providing three leased MD-11 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCFs). The companies joined in celebrating the freighters' recent entry into service at a ceremony marking Aeroflot Cargo's new fleet and the resulting operational improvements at the carrier's facility at Frankfurt-Hahn airport.
Boeing Capital Corporation, the company's aircraft financing arm, structured the deal and Boeing conducted the modification work at subcontractor facilities in Europe. Aeroflot Cargo, which operates four DC-10 freighters, is leasing the three MD-11BCFs on a multi-year basis.
"We are confident that the MD-11F, as a proven, reliable and highly demanded freighter, will deliver long-term efficiency for our network," said Aeroflot Cargo General Director and CEO Oleg Korolev. "Boeing's world-class customer service offers support from the first contact and delivery through the refresh of airplanes to keep our planes earning revenue."
A converted MD-11 carries 205,400-pound (93.2 tonne) structural payload at a range of 3,486 nautical miles (6,456 kilometers) at 630,500 pounds (286,000 kg) maximum takeoff weight. The main and lower deck cargo compartments hold a total of 36 96- by 125-in. pallets or containers.
"This solution allows us to optimize our choices for airplanes that we needed to redeploy, maximizing the airplane's value since freighter conversion is a great residual play for the MD-11s," said Tony Simpson, Boeing Capital managing director for Europe, Russia and Central Asia. "Putting valuable BCF assets into the hands of an experienced and reputable operator represents a good outcome for our portfolio."
The MD-11 freighter conversion features an updated flight deck and cargo-handling system, better fuel efficiency and increased payload and range capabilities.
"This is a great example of Boeing's integrated Lifecycle Solutions, putting forth a seamless process for Aeroflot Cargo, where Boeing handled aircraft acquisition, passenger-to-freighter modification and leasing of the final product," said Dan Da Silva, vice president for Sales and Marketing, Boeing Commercial Aviation Services.
Aeroflot Cargo also has committed to acquire three additional MD-11 airplanes to undergo freighter conversion with Boeing's help. The first aircraft will begin modification later this year with redeliveries in 2009.
Boeing Commercial Aviation Services will provide detailed engineering design work and oversight of the Aeroflot Cargo conversions, with SASCO, a subsidiary of ST Aerospace, providing touch labor on the airplanes.
Overall, Boeing has converted more than 100 MD-11 passenger airplanes to freighters.
Channel: CNBC Europe
Duration: 3 mins 16 secs
CNBC Transcript of Interview with Åke Svensson, CEO of SAAB
Louisa Bojesen
Sweden’s aerospace and military defence group Saab has posted second quarter earnings
below expectations. However, it reiterated its outlook for the year. You just saw him briefly a
second ago as we were teasing you: the CEO, Åke Svensson of Saab. Åke, good to see you
today. The analysts this morning think that you slightly missed on your figures; second
quarter earnings slightly lag consensus forecasts. You are holding onto your full-year
forecast, though, for 2008. You’re repeating that.
Åke Svensson
Yes, that’s true. We are doing that. First of all, I think we have seen a very strong order
intake, and I’m very optimistic about that. Sales has grown, but as you said, our profit level
has been reduced slightly. Really, if you look into the figures in more detail, you will see that
we had a couple of one-offs last year which looks like we are reducing our profit level this
time, but actually, underlying, we are increasing, also, the profit level.
Louisa Bojesen
But the reason for profits coming down – they were off by 27%. How much of that is down to
the higher raw material costs that you’re dealing with and the higher prices that you are going
to have to either push onto your consumers or eat up yourself?
Åke Svensson
I think the raw material cost is not so much for our industry. We are more into the knowledgebased
industry, a lot of software development and such things. No; what we see is hitting our
bottom line is very much the marketing expenses. We have a very strong interest now on the
export market for the Gripen fighter. Therefore, we have also had quite extensive costs when
it comes to preparing proposals lately for India, for Switzerland, and also for Norway.
Louisa Bojesen
What’s your order outlook, though, for 2009? There are many that are looking ahead beyond
this year and kind of almost writing off this year as just being a bit messy and a bit difficult to
see properly through.
Åke Svensson
We have not given any predictions for next year. Of course, we will do that later on. What we
have said long term, and we continue to reiterate that also in this year’s forecast, is that we
expect to grow with about 5% organically year-over-year. That may, of course, be a little
fluctuating over the years, but generally we have said that we look forward to growth,
especially on the export market which is extremely important for us.
Louisa Bojesen
That export market, in order to keep it running, does that mean that you’re going to be looking
towards acquisitions as well or towards teaming up in some type of joint ventures with local
companies outside of Sweden?
Åke Svensson
We are doing that all the time. We have been doing that very much so in South Africa
recently. We also have some operations in Australia and the US. We are constantly looking
at what opportunities there are there, both for joint ventures, as you say, or for acquisitions. I
would like to keep all these options open, but generally, we want to grow our business mostly
outside of Sweden.
Louisa Bojesen
Åke, thank you very much; we appreciate it. Also, I apologise if I got it wrong in terms of the
materials question. I’ve seen a number of analysts, though, quoting that higher raw material
costs definitely were an issue for you, hence my reference. Åke Svensson, CEO of Saab.
We appreciate it.
60 years celebrated!
7/25/2008 - TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. (AFPN) -- The service has come a long way in 60 years, as the military celebrates the 60th Anniversary of integration in the armed forces July 26 here.
Tinker Air Force Base members reflect that progress, with African Americans currently serving in the top three 72nd Air Base Wing leadership positions.
Col. Allen Jamerson assumed command of the 72nd ABW July 18, marking a distinct moment in Tinker AFB history. Colonel Jamerson, who also serves as the installation commander, Col. Mona Lisa Tucker, the 72nd ABW vice commander and Chief Master Sgt. Eric Harmon, the 72nd ABW command chief, are all of African American descent.
The 72nd ABW provides base operations support to more than 28,000 military and civilian personnel assigned to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center and 45 associate units.
"The possibility of the three of African American holding these positions was just a dream 60 years ago," Colonel Jamerson said. "In today's Air Force, it's really just business as usual."
Before President Harry Truman signed Executive Order 9981, the military was segregated, like much of the rest of society. There were all-black military units in every major American war since the Civil War. One of the most famous units was the Air Force's Tuskegee Airmen. Colonel Jamerson is quick to recognize the efforts of those men and realizes that the Air Force has come a long way.
"Pioneers such as the Tuskegee Airmen and the other all-black units paved the way for their successors coming up through the ranks," he said. "They broke down the myths and stereotypes of the era. Their sacrifices and successes have paid off not only for African Americans, but for all military personnel who aspire to be leaders."
Colonel Tucker, who has been the wing's vice commander since July 2007 said, "The 72nd Air Base Wing supports one of the most diverse installations in the Air Force. From depot maintenance to airborne warning and control, strategic communications and so much more, Tinker AFB is a national defense asset. I am extremely proud to be part of this wing's senior leadership team and hopefully serve as an example of the opportunities that await all Airmen."
"When I look back at the past and now at the present, this is truly an amazing opportunity to serve with Colonel Jamerson and Colonel Tucker. I am thankful as a migrant from Guyana, South America, and as an African American to be blessed to serve in this capacity at the hallmark of this historical event that marks the 60th anniversary of the integration of the armed forces. This would not be possible without the many sacrifices of the pioneers and many brave African Americans before us who made it possible for everyone regardless of their racial or cultural background to serve in key leadership positions," said Chief Harmon.
On July 26, 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed the executive order establishing the President's Committee on Equality of Treatment and Opportunity in the Armed Services, committing the government to integrating the segregated military. The order stated that "there shall be equality of treatment and opportunity for all persons in the armed forces without regard to race, color, religion, or national origin."
"The armed forces helped pioneer much of the change in America the past six decades and your country is much better off for it. I'm honored to command the 72nd Air Base Wing, and to serve alongside Colonel Tucker, Chief Harmon and all of the outstanding Tinker Airmen, civilian, and contractors that support our nations defense," Colonel Jamerson said.
