| Forty Mile Light by Robert Koch 40 Mile Point Light is located on the shore of Lake Huron in Michigan. The location is aptly named, being situated 40 miles southeast of Old Mackinac Point and 40 northwest of Thunder Bay. The lighthouse station was completed in 1896. 40 Mile Point's last official lighthouse keeper was C. P. Tupper. In January 1944, the United States Coast Guard took over responsibility for maintenance and operation of the 40 Mile Point Light Station. The era of the lighthouse keeper was at an end. In November 1998, the Deed to the property was turned over to the county. Since that time, the county and the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse Society have been working to restore and preserve the entire site. |

The bombardier's plexi on "Chuckie," a Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress of the Vintage Flying Museum, Meacham Field, Ft. Worth, Texas. Located at 505 NW 38th St, Fort Worth, TX 76106 [Telephone: (817) 624-1935], hosts a number of unique aircraft including the Beechcraft JRB, Stinson V77 Reliant, E Systems L450, a "Kiwi" North American AT-6, the North American B-25 Mitchell "Pacific Prowler," Grumman F-14 Tomcat, Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter, the Ryan PT-22 primary trainer and more. The VFM is also home to the Forward Air Controller's Air Museum with its collection of Liason aircraft, including the Aeronca L-3 and the Stinson L-5 Sentinel ~ on loan from the U.S. Navy Museum in Pensacola, having served aboard the U.S.S. Lexington ~ and the OV-10 Museum and its Bronco collection, including two examples from the BLM and the original wooden mockup created by North American during the development of the Close Air Support and Forward Air Control aircraft.
